It’s natural to have questions and concerns about leaving your pet for daycare or boarding. We’ve compiled a list of the most commonly asked questions received at Poochies & Mutts and answered them for you here. If you have a question that is not listed below, please contact us at (920) 498-2669 and we will be happy to speak with you.

Dog Vaccination

How long does it take to get approved for a reservation?

We require 2 days to approve reservation requests for new clients. This gives us time to verify vaccination status with your veterinarian.

For returning clients whose pets are still fully vaccinated and on record with us, reservations can be made directly online, here(link to Pawloyalty).

What vaccines are required?

Dogs must be currently vaccinated for Distemper, Rabies & Bordetella. If your dog has never had the Bordetella vaccine it must be given at least 5 days prior to arrival.

We do not require a waiting period.

Cats must be current with their Feline Distemper and Rabies vaccinations.

  • Pitbulls are simply too reactive for us to ensure all of our pet guests’ safety. We love pitties and know they can make terrific pets, but as a breed they are reactive and strong dogs. We have made the decision not to accept pitbull/Staffordshire terrier breeds because we simply cannot risk the harm they may do to other dogs, either intentionally or unintentionally.

  • All of our dog bedrooms are outfitted with raised Kuranda pet beds, fleece blankets, and glass food and water dishes. We ask that you provide your own pet food for each day of your pet’s stay.

  • Yes. Pets are very habitual. We ask that you bring your own food to keep your pet’s tummy happy during their stay. We also recommend bringing toys or bedding from home because they can help reduce stress in a new environment. We just ask that the bedding fits in a standard washing machine.

  • Yes. All of our daycare dogs are in large, open areas where they are free to roam, run, and interact with other dogs. If your dog is anxious, fearful, or aggressive, this is not the right environment for him/her. Likewise, senior ( dogs and those who prefer a quieter, more private environment would not do well here.

  • Yes. We do offer a boarding discount for multiple pets from the same household. Each additional dog is $28/day. Each additional cat is $18/day.

Daycare is sold in packs of 10 which can be mixed and matched with any pet in your household.
